Human life is stressful. Under stress the body produces and releases hormones that prepare us to fight, flight or freeze. When in this state our blood pressure increases, our muscles tense, our pulse increases, and our blood tends to clot. Prolong stress creates emotional and physical illness. The practice of relaxation can reduce tension and bring us into a state of peace and harmony where healing occurs. Our bodies are integrated systems. Learning to read and relax our bodies will naturally bring about a balance of body, emotion and mind.
